Privacy Policy
PileSight ยท Effective 7 November 2026
In short: PileSight collects no data. It has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you capture stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
What the app stores on your device
- Scans: LiDAR depth data, camera frames and the 3D point clouds and surfaces made from them.
- Results: volumes, grades, boundaries, notes, material names and bulk densities you enter.
- Settings: your units, operator name and capture preferences.
- Location (optional): if you turn it on, an approximate location is saved with a site so you can find it later. It is never used for measurement.
This information is kept only in the app's storage on your device. It is never sent to the developer or to any third party.
Permissions
- Camera: used with the LiDAR depth sensor to capture the shape of stockpiles.
- Location (when in use, optional): used only to tag sites, and only if you enable it.
Sharing
When you tap Share or Export, the app creates a file (such as a PDF report, CSV, point cloud or 3D model) and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes next, such as email, messages or cloud storage, is your choice and is governed by that service's privacy policy. The app's folder is also visible in the Files app on your device.
Deleting your data
Delete scans, stockpiles or sites inside the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data. Device backups (iCloud or computer) may contain app data until those backups are replaced.
Children
PileSight is a professional tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
